Title pretty much says it all.
    I'm considering a:
    - Bogner Shiva
    - EVH 5150 III
    - Bogner Ecstasy Classic
    - CAE OD
    - Elmwood Modena

Am I missing any? What do you think the best one is and why?
Which one has the more Two-Rock (or Fender Vibrolux) voice?

I've an affinity for darker voiced gain channels if that helps, such as the Bogner Ecstasy.. which I currently have but it's the 101b.

    Thanks.

Mesa Mk IIc+ or Mk III. Heavy, not neccesarily dark.( own both)
Diezel Einstein. Definitely darker thicker lead.(played extensively)
I love my EVH 5150 III.
All have nice clean, better than an xtc, but not sure they sound quite like my Vibrolux. Actually nothing does.

Mark IV rather than the IIs or IIIs because of separate EQ.

The Laney Vh100R has a great clean, but may be too bright for your tastes. Orange amps are generally dark, but I don't consider the Rockerverb 50 I had to be super high gain, it could get into classic metal territory easily though.

I use a mesa mark IV for my high gain channel switcher.

No question in my mind ....

    CAA, OD-100 ( you pick the version ) -
    Classic
    Cl+
    Std+
    SE+
    PT

As far as I know, John will do any of them with either the "regular" clean channel or the Laudau clean channel ..., you just can't go wrong with either !

I like the Shiva real well. I would include Engl in your search. Pretty cool amps, decent price.

Soldano SLO? Not really the same kind of amp... but the cleans are nice.

I always thought this was a stupid idea though.... You can easily find a high gain head that has a distortion tone you like (i.e. a soldano avenger), and for under $700 you can pick up something like a silverface bandmaster or showman.... or even a JC120h. You'll pay a much higher premium for good cleans on a high gain head.

My only thing is the whole transporting the whole rig. I'm more into live sound than recorded.
Besides that, is there really an amp that has the gain channel of a Shiva or the blue channel of an XTC, (or red that's uncompressed) in a single channel head?
If there is, please tell me.

For those that say OD100, is it darker voiced like a Bogner?

And more specifically, Braciola, is that in order as to what sounds the best to you?

Just went through this. I'm LOVING my new Rockerverb 50. Lots of mojo.

The Mark IV is killer too. The cleans are very clean. If you can imagine a cleaner Blackface...

My next stop would be either VHT or the Rivera Tre...

With all the votes, looks like I'll have to try a CAA OD100 sometime!

I didn't like the Mark IV or the VHT. Not saying they're bad, but just not my bag.

Are there any one channel amps that sound like a Bogner Ecstasy?

As far as cleans? I'd say yeah, that order is about right.
As far as the gain channel, none on my list really do it for me.

Clean channel to die for and darker-voiced smooth high-gain lead tone:
Rivera KHR 55 or 100. If you are able to turn the amp up to the sweet spot I would pit this amp against any. Put a pedal on the clean channel for rhythm and you are set.
