I know theres a lot of boutique PCB high gain beasts out there to choose from right now, but whats the most bad ass, highest gain, all handwired amp available ? Preferably with an fx loop and two channels.

i dont know if the elmwood is, but that thing is bad ass.

Two Rock does a high gain onyx sig. its supposed to be quite metal.

if you dont mind pcb there are all sorts of options like:
    Suhr OD100 (hand populated boards)
    Soldano SLO100
    Bogner Uberschall and XTC
    Diezel VH4 and Herberts
    Hughes and Kettner Triamp
    Mesas
    Framus Dragon and Cobra
    Krank amps
Diamond Amps (might be hw, im not sure)
    Brunetti Amps (same as above)
    Cornford (not sure)
    Egnater
    The list goes on

Tatoo Flash 50 is all handwired and more gain than even I can use. I have one in the Emporium and on ebay if you would like to check it out.

I just spent some time looking for the same thing, posted my results from the various amps I tried.

BadCat makes a couple, thats what I ended up with, Suhr Badger, Budda (some say Budda is not boutique), Fuchs, Komet, Star Amps

you don't have to be HANDWIRED. PCB is just as good or better if done right! Elmwoods are PCB, but they are PCB done entirely correctly. Just like the post above...judging by clips and such, without opening the amp, nobody would know! But the only high gain amp that is all handwired I can think about is a voodoo....I'll chime back in when I think of some more!

But, why is handwired an absolute must? Also if handwire is a must ( usually people want it for "purity") why two channels then....then why the efx loop. You are looking at things there that will completely work against whatever if anything gained by being handwired. I am not trying to flame ya, just trying to help you make sense of things. There's a lot more to amps other than just being handwired.

    AHHH,

Handwired bad boy = pretty much any cornford...
MK50II is a 2 channel, handwired, bad boy w/ high gain, and an fx loop!

    There ya go!

rob pierce's valvetech amps are hand-wired. the vac 50 can be a pretty high gain head. he has made 2 custom heads for me that i would call capable of high gain. his vac series can have fx loops and reverb also.

It really doesn't matter if it's PCB [if done right] or hardwired for tone...the difference is in the design..Actually, a well designed PCB amp will actually be more bulletproof than a hardwired amp......
    Just food for thought

Thanks for all the replies so far guys.

I didnt mean for my post to imply that I HAD to have handwired , but was just wondering what was out there in high gain handwired.

I plan on spending about 3g's on something in the next couple of months, and so far I'm looking at the 5150III halfstack, or the Modena M60 played through a 1960AV
    that I already have.

Some pretty good suggestions so far though. Those Cornfords and Bad Cats look pretty interesting !!!

You didn't try the Egnater Mod 50. I have had an XTC and several Shivas, couple Soldano SLO's, Hiwatts, Marshalls, Boogies and Fenders. I've tried all the others and the Mod 50 is my favorite in both versatility and tone. Check them out. There are some sound clips on the Indoor Storm website that do an ok job of presenting the amp. I will say that they sound much better live!

The amp head cost me around 2K.

    Aiken Sabre?

Not sure how much gain you need, but handwired (I think the new one's might be PCB), channel switching, w/ fx loop.

That's THE answer! One of the very few amps on the market that meet all requirements the original poster wanted.

I just put new preamp tubes in my Roccaforte HG100, and man is that thing smokin' now! And that's just 1/2 of the Jenelle...

    Cheers,
    Blair

Roccas don't get talked about too much in this forum lately, but I've never played a better hi-gain amp.

Miley Cyrus's/Hannah Montana's guitarist uses a Cornford. First time I'd ever seen on a stage. He must have kept the chanel volume down. :D

PS - Post is true. Just thought it was funny in light of yours. No offense meant at all.

    I thought Framus' are handwired?

If so - The Framus Dragon is a beast and has 2 channels and a loop.
