I need a high gain pedal for rhythm guitar. It's gotta be good with palm-muted power chords. I've got a muff, but I'm using that more for leads.

So recommend me something. Nothing to expensive...I use a tele or strat, into a valve jr at home and a crate v30 for gigs.

    Thanks for the help.

If you want the cranked Marshall JCM900, JCM800 & Plexi tones you can't beat an MI Audio Crunchbox. ;)

The crunchbox would definitely suit your needs...definitely a high-gain pedal that has a really tight crunch that works great for palm-muted power chords. It also sounds exceptional with single-coil guitars. the emma reeza is also a great high-gainer for this application as well. It has a really heavy bass response that some people don't like, but it will definitely make your palm muted chords sound huge.

I'm not sure if it's high gain or not, but my Strat and Tele LOVE the Mojo Drive!

I have a Crunchbox on my pedalboard for laying waste to a Bassman, highly recommended.

    Hmmm, crunchbox it is then.

what about rat pedals, like the brown rabbit or the lovekraft chupacabra, are those any good for palm muted power chords?

If you get the chance, try out a Radial Tone Bone Hot British.

The MI Tube Zone is like a "Soldano in a box". I don't know about that, but it sounds really good.
