first of all, ive owned this album since about a week after it was released. it was purchased based on a friends suggestion. well, i thought it was a "good" album when i listened to it the first time. but over the past couple of days, its really started to open up for me. it sounds at once like something totally fresh and something from the glory days of hip hop. some of it sounds like 'fear of a black planet' and other parts sound like ice cube 'death certificate'. no materialism or sex here. this is easily one of the best rap albums of 2012, if not the best one since early eminem. el-p is the producer, and the beats are truly timeless. if you know late 80s, early 90s hip hop, you will hear exactly what i mean. here are some clips. dont bother if you dont like rap.
