Please recommend a good EQ pedal that you've used? Thanks!
Any modded Boss GE-7 works great ... monte allums is a pretty reasonable mod price wise. I have a sniper modded Boss GE-7 I picked up from a member here and no complaints
Used to own a Sniper-Mod GE7, great graphic eq, very quiet.
Traded up (imo) to a Carl Martin Parametric eq. My only gripe is that it is AC only, so I can't power it from my pedalboard. I usually leave it on top of the amp, though, I tune to the room & leave it on the rest of the night.
http://buildyourownclone.com 10 band, true bypass
http://axeandyoushallreceive.com will build one for ya
Boss EQ-20. Excellent sound, noise-free, and 9 recallable presets. It transformed my tone. Heck, it transforms it dynamically!
Other popular EQs are the BJF SBEQ, The Antelope MDEQ (discontinued), and the modded Boss GE-7. You can keep a lookout for the Boss PQ-4, as well
Haven't used it so I probably shouldn't write this, but...
Look at Barber!
I'm so pleased with the quality of his pedals and his great communication. I'm sure one of his EQs will serve you well.
Thanks! I didn't even realize Barber made an EQ. While it's not a typical Graphic EQ pedal, it may be just what 'm looking for since I have two simple amps with only a volume control and this will add what I'm missing.
I'm considering the Boss graphic EQ for the effects loop of a Marshall JCM 900 (hoping it will improve it's sound). What does this mod do?
the byoc eq pedal mentioned earlier is superb for the money. 10 bands, input/output level, true bypass, blah, blah, blah.
It really cleans up the EQ's sound and background hiss and noise .... replaces the cheap components with higher quality stuff inside. Especially helpful being it's a EQ pedal
+1 on the Sniper Modded EQ. Greatest $50 investment I ever made, depending on how my mutual funds do this year.
I love my Barber Barb-EQ. Brilliant!
Any body here try one of these? MXR M-108.
Looks like the BYOC but in a larger case.
