hey guys, i got a quick question. I have the Boss ME-70 (the ME-50 upgrade). Normally it would be guitar-->ME-70-->amp. however now i want to get an OD pedal and reverb pedal seeing as the OD and reverb aren't great. But i didnt buy it for either one of those reasons anyway, so its ok. But how should i connect it now? guitar->OD->ME-70->reverb->amp?

or throw the ME-70/reverb pedal into the effects looop of the amp?

thanks for your replies.

If you run your amp clean, you should be able to get away with sticking the whole deal up front. If you use amp distortion, reverb (and some of the fx in the ME-70) will probably sound better in the fx loop.

As for the OD, does the ME-70 have a breakout/insert point somewhere? If so, take a look at where in the signal chain that sits, to see if the OD is best hooked up there or in front of the ME-70.

Insert points can also be used to move certain parts of the fx unit to the effects loop. For instance, if the ME-70 has send/return jacks after the drive/gain fx, but before the chorus/delay/reverb section, you can use the send jack to connect to the amp's input, and the return + output as the input/output for a second fx chain connected in the amp's loop.

ugh..yeah i had checked it...there's no break in the signal chain. runs like this:

pedal->comp->OD->preamp/EQ->volume pedal->MOD (flanger/phaser/etc..)->delay->reverb-> then outputs.

thats why i figured it would be fine to throw in reverb before the output. i was more curious about the OD. thanks for the response.

As you sugest guitar -> OD -> ME70 -> reverb would be fine.
You could run the reverb and ME-70 in the effects loop OR in front, try it both way and see which one you like most.
