I'm working on my buddy's string-thru body project guitar, and I've noticed that the holes for the string ferrules are bigger than the ferrules. The ferrules are just a fuzz too small. They're 5/32" on top and 5/16" on the bottom. I could probably go with a bigger ferrule on top, but the spacing between the holes on bottom isn't going to let me go with a 3/8" ferrule. Any suggestions? Should I fill the holes with wood putty and re-drill them? It's going to be a solid color top, not transparent color.
