    Hey,
My Uncle gave me a Holmes Mississippi Bluesmaster with the matching cab. I have been looking around for some info on these amps, but have found next to nothing! Does anyone know anything about these amps?

They are solid state amps made in mississippi. IIRC they had legal problems from copying Peaveys too closely and shut down. 70s or 80s? Old SS amps. Does it work? I fixed one a few years ago. Pretty good for SS.

Yeah it works great! My uncle bought it used in the 80's and he said the previous owner had it for some time before he did. My guess would be 70's but I'm not sure. I have the head as well as the matching 4X10 cab.

I played one in a pawn shop..they were asking $80 for the head...The headbox is totally sealed so you cant see anything inside it. I googled it at home and found NO info. Sounded like a (decent?) solid state peavey amp..In fact it still hasn't sold yet.

I hear these are killer amps for SS amps...I used to have a Holmes amp but it wasn't the (in)famous Mississippi Blues Master it was a little 10 or so watt deal with like a single 8 or maybe it was a 10...I actually left it at my dads house years ago when I moved out only to find out that he now uses it a good bit for playing at home!

Oh I will! I have had it for close to 8 years now so I don't plan on parting with it any time soon.

I have a Mississippi Bluesmaster head that looks EXACTLY like that, except it doesn't have a plate with the serial number like that on the back. I'm assuming mine is probably newer than yours, although definitely not is as good condition.

My problem is my amp doesn't turn on and I'm dying to use it again. I can't find anyone with schematics to get it fixed so, my question is does anyone happen to have the schematics for this amp?!

I'm not pessimistic but i seriously doubt anyone has them.

Wow, thanks for taking me back. I bought a Holmes Mississippi Bluesmaster with matching 4X10 cabinet back in 1976. That was a great sounding blues and rock amp for its time. I used it for a couple of years with an LP std and then the head was lost in an arson fire.

I have the Holmes 4X10 cab sitting unused less speakers, corner protectors and grill cloth if you would like another.

    thx,
    Jim

if these things sound so awesome... why doesnt someone build a clone?.. I love good sounding solid state amps. Ive looked for one of those Award Session amps for a long time with no luck & still rock a Lab Series L5 & Yamaha G100 on a regular basis

Someone build a Holmes Miss. Bluesmaster clone!

I know it's an old thread, but I have some questions about the amp. I just got one for free and it wasn't working, but I've got it going. It still needs some work.
Joe Kerr maybe you can help me.
