My wife's friend is doing one of those home allergy tests and wants my wife to do it too. Anyone have any experience with these? They're expensive!

Is this one of those things where you collect your blood at home and mail it to the company for testing?

Probably not a good idea. Those tests have a lot of false positives, and you can't definitively identify an allergy based on it.

Why is your wife's friend doing it (and trying to get your wife to do it too?) Just a fun thing to do?

edit: meant to post this link for some context
