1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

I recently got a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and until tonight was quite happy with my amp.
However tonight while playing with my Jazzmaster with p90s, in mid song without me noticing it went from nice clear overdrive to a rather unpleasant breakup, much less distinct. It was almost as if I blew the amp or the speaker, however the speaker seems fine.
there seems to be no volume loss, just a loss in dynamic, and clean tone.

Any ideas, as it did not sound like this until it seemed I pushed the amp a bit to hard.

could it be preamp tubes? or speaker? Or worse...... :/

Well, I had a similar thing happen to me way back with an HRD and it was a cold solder joint. Took it to a tech and they fixed 'er up.
