I'm considering selling off my Fender Deville to fund a '63 Vibroverb Reissue. Has anyone played both? I'm fairly used to playing through the 4x10 speakers, will the 2x10 be a huge trade off? I do often play with a 1x12 and it sounds just fine to me. How much nicer is the VVRI? Is it easier to get a good cranked/overdriven sound with the VVRI? Which one takes pedals better?

I'm just not really loving the clean sound of the deville as much as I thought I would. It seems to have some sort of compression I'm not really digging.

I'm also contemplating buying a zvex Distortron as well to push it more into a tweed-like vibe (Deluxes are my absolute favorite overdrive).

Any other opinions on either amp would be appreciated. This forum always has a great variety of opinions about gear!
