HotCake vs SHOD

    Just got an AC15C1 and a Casino last week and was looking to pick up a new OD. I know the HotCake was designed for Vox's but I like the way both sound. BTW I also have a Tele and a Twin. Thanks.

    I think the SHOD is very bright and punchy ... I'm not so sure it would be a good idea to use it with a Vox and a Tele :s

    I don't have a Vox but I run a Bad Cat Hot Cat and the cleans are in the same ballpark. That being said, I had a SHOD for a while and I liked it a lot. Incredible dynamics. You don't find a better pedal in that category. The dealbreaker for me was the lack of an EQ. It has a tone-ish knob but it really cuts a lot of bass. If you used it as an always-on kind of pedal, this probably would be much of a factor. I ended up with a Wampler Ecstasy that I LOVE! Pretty similar and has a bass roll in knob to compensate. Just my two cents.
