How bad is a bad digital camera's mic?

Pleple tol me it lacks low frequencies, it lacks bass... Do you think it is due do the recording? In that case, where has the bass gone? It must have been recorded, but it turned into middle frequencies?

I just bought a new Samsung camcorder and it sounds great, but yes, the tiny mic diaphragms aren't picking up the lower frequencies. I have a Zoom H@ and I'm going to strap it to the tripod leg next time and take its line out into the camera line in

Cool.

That the mic could do that,i know if i try to play heavy metal with my digital camera it would turn out as fuzz.

yeah, camera mics are notoriously bad. I've got a RODE Videomic Pro that I use with my DSLRs. It sounds much better.
