How do you get the smoke smell out of an old amp?

    Take a flat pan of some kind and fill with baking powder.....DO NOT OPERATE AMP!!!!!!! Leave this "IN" the amp and rap with plastic for at least a week.I have done this and it works!Then I take some oil of clove or other concentrated fragrance and let it work into the wood ...presto no smoke.

    I usually put nicotine patches on the side of the amp for a few months until the cravings subside.

    For me I let the amp air out with fans for a week, then used a damp rag to clean the tolex and insides of the amp. This worked pretty well, you can still smell the smoke when it gets warm, but its not bad. So it still has that personality smell, but not that run for the border overwelming smell.

    This works much better than the gum.
