I have been reading the pedalboard thread which is awesome by the way and some of the boards you guys have are insane. I have been looking up these companies that I have never heard of before like Zxex, Fulltone, Skreddy, Lovepedal, Keeley, Analogman etc and these pedals are expensive man. And some of you have a **** load of money invested on these boards I am just curious if you have saved alot of money and these boards took years to build or what? Are you guys married at all cause my wife would kill me if I bought that fuzz factory pedal I want. My board isn't **** but Jesus. Even the gear in the mail thread is astonishing. I just assume most are single or just don't care what their wives say.

I'm married, in my mid 40's with no kids and no car payments and I'm head of the household. Lots of us buy gear used vs. new and trade up and often.

It doesn't have to happen overnight. Buy what you can afford and what sounds good to your ears and go from there.

I'm married and make a fairly decent wage but nothing to write home about. I only recently bought into this madness and have found that after I invested in a few used pedals, I am able to sustain more purchases by selling the ones that don't work for me. Granted, I had to invest in the first few pedals, but I haven't lost a lot of money by "buying/trying"... usually just shipping fees. Trading in the Emporium has been a godsend!

Look at it this way... most pedals are cheaper than guitars and amps. :)

i have done the trade/buy/sell thing now for a few years, and am proud to say that my whole board cost me absolutely nothing. All from profits buying selling... Ok, thats a lie, i bought my TU2 new 8 years ago. :D

I like to think no one goes into debt to buy pedals, but I'm sure that's just wishful thinking on my part. I've actually seen guys leave this forum after they realized they spent way to much money on gear and if they kept coming here it would lead to financial ruin. I'm not kidding.

Single, and this is what I spend my money on. I don't drink or smoke or do drugs or have a BMW. As far as stupid **** to blow your money on goes, pedals are a pretty good choice. ;)

Theres always the popular "my daddy buys them for me" response.

Also don't assume when you see all those nice pedals that they add up to great tone. Not always the case.

Not single but I have a good job and own my own company as a secondary income which is a good way to get most stuff in a reasonable time.
