:( I e-mailed hermida audio and requested to be put on the list for a zendrive 2... this was a couple of days ago and so far no word back whatsoever as to if I even got on the list...does anyone know what gives ? I really would like to get the zendrive 2 even if I have to wait... I just would like to be assured that I'm at least on the list...

Maybe he couldn't read the font in your email?

If you haven't sent payment you are not in queue.

Some people were saying you didn't pay up front

I'm currently in line for a Zendrive which I paid for three months ago. Alf is covered up with orders and is hopefully prioritizing the back log over answering the loads of email he probably receives daily. Send your payment and he will confirm your order.

From an e-mail I received from Alf on January 29 (note: he indicated 8 week wait later in the e-mail):

    HOW TO ORDER:

    * Send me an email indicating the pedal(s) you're interested in. I'll add
    you to that waiting list.

    * I will email you when the unit is close to ready so you can pay.

    * After payment is received, the pedal is shipped. You have a couple of
    days to check it out.

    * If it doesn't work for you, simply send it back - no pressure.

    * I'll refund the price of the pedal (shipping charges are not refunded).

To get on the Zendrive 2 list, you don't have to pay up front - that was only for the Zendrive. That's what Alf told me. Just be patient and he'll reply - hopefully he's too busy making Zendrives!

Most of that sounds about right. The 8 week thing, that might be a misprint.;)

    stratofied,
    My error!
I forgot we were talking about the Zendrive 2. The eight week wait is for the Zendrive.
On the Zendrive 2, Alf noted:
Zendrive 2 (Tube based) is $250 [introductory price] (not shipping yet but waiting list is available)

That may be. I did have to pay up front for the Zendrive though.
    Hopefully.

Yea, I thinking that (not shipping yet) is the reason you can get on the list without paying.

Alf took a couple of days to get back to me when i e-mailed him last month. If he takes more than a week try e-mailing him again in case it's something about your e-mail address but it could just be he's busy?

Do you guys think the Z2 will really happen? People have been waiting since last June. I'm on 'the list' too but it seems Alf needs to modify his business model.

IIRC, Alf is a professor at Florida Int'l University. Certain times of the year he'll be busy doing what professors do.

He's got clips on the website so he's at least got a prototype. I think they're just swamped with orders at the moment.

I wanted to go over a few things:

    1) I "used" to be able to go over emails quickly - these days that's not the case and in some cases it'll take me a couple of days to sort through all of them.

    2) The Zendrive 2 will happen. The backlog of standard Zendrive orders is constantly pushing the schedule back.

    3) To many of you I have have given an estimated 8 week delivery. Some of you have become aware that it hasn't happened. I'm doing the best I can to catch-up. I do have a helper that is here from time to time but its not enough to achieve "critical speed". I continue to look for local help but no luck so far.

    4) At this point I'm only adding names to the waiting list for all units and continue to build following a "first in first out" approach.

There ya go. Word from the man himself.

I have never had any luck w/tube based pedals (including the mighty V-Twin, Tubster, TubeDriver, etc..) but now that Alf's on the job...
