How do you set song tempos with the Liquid Foot Jr / Axe-FX?

Posted this on the Axe-FX forum as well...I'm interested in setting up my Liquid Foot Jr. so that, when I select a song in Song/Setlist mode, it automatically sets the tempo on the Axe-FX for that song. I.e., song 1 would be at 120 BPM, song 2 would be at 95 BPM, etc. Can anyone help me do this? I think it's possible, because the LF Editor has a Tempo field on the song tab, but so far that's not working for me.

enter a midi command in SONG MIDI TABLE as follows:

01: SPECIAL: S-TEMPO 2:BPM parameter

This will actually "tap" out the exact tempo to the external hardware.

Make sure to set the Global Settings (Tap Tempo CC #). It will transmit on MIDI chan #1.

email if you need anything else ([email protected]).

Got this figured out with help from Jeff (thanks Jeff!)

For anyone who's interested in using the Liquid Foot / LF Jr. to automatically set song tempos on the Axe-FX, there are three steps, described below. This works really well for anything where you'd normally tap in the tempo manually, but there's no tapping! The LF does it for you automatically.

Here are the steps:

1. Liquid Foot: in the Global settings, set the Tap Tempo CC to whatever CC number the Axe-FX uses for Tap Tempo. In mine the default is 14.

2. Liquid Foot: In the song MIDI map, enter the command 01: SPECIAL: T-TEMPO 2:BPM parameter. It is NOT S-TEMPO as described above - Jeff corrected that in a subsequent conversation.

3. Axe-FX: press the Tempo button and change the "Tempo To Use" parameter to "Global." You must do this for every preset that you want to use the song tempo from the LF Jr. If you don't, the Axe-FX will use the tempo that was last stored with the preset, and will cancel out the tempo input from the LF.

Enjoy...
