Just curious what you take for a country cover gig. I feel like it's less and less all the time for me and I'm considering taking an amp and a boost and calling it a night...I've got a BrakeLite on my amp so I feel like no matter how quiet folks want it I can get it in the sweet spot and work the volume knob for cleans/edge of break up. Am I crazy? What would be your lower limit? Tuner is a given.

I play in two country bands but its mostly modern stuff. Other than a tuner, an absolute must for me would a Micro Pog, a multi-mod (I use the mobius), a compressor 2 dirts and a delay with tap/subdivision.

If it were more classic stuff, I would think an overdrive, a tuner and a delay would be enough. A compressor/phaser if you want to get nuts!

Depends on what you call country.
Lot of today’s sh¡t “country music” is played on metal rigs with a Tele.

If you ask me, a phaser into a blackface Fender will get you there.

I'd say very limited.. An OD/Boost (like a Paisley Deluxe or a FD3), a tremolo (TR2) and a delay for slapback (Aquapuss).

For country I go tuner, reverb/Trem (if the amp doesn’t have it already) and a low gain OD. If im feeling a little adventurous maybe I’ll throw a phase 90, delay, or a second Dirt pedal on there too.

This is pretty close to what I'm thinking. I've got a Bad Monkey, Fulltone 2B, Digitech trem and Line 6 Echo Park laying around. I might just make this my little board.

I play cleans-low gain but not country & I'm finding myself happy with an EQ & a delay.
Maybe another pedal. Less is great.

My sweet spot was Rat-Katana mini-H9 Max. I suppose a good comp would be appropriate.

Sometimes you need tremolo. Sometimes you need phaser (Waylon)
    Sometimes you need chorus (90’s)
    Sometimes you need slap back.

That should do the trick - a Fender or Vox amp with reverb and a tele or strat and you're in business!

I would say a good low-gain overdrive, a compressor and a delay for slapback will give you everything you need. You can get the tremolo from the amp.

Used to be you'd do a Country gig (or any similar "roots" music) with NO pedals – except maybe a tuner

Nowadays, I'd suppose you need some kind of Compressor, a mild dirt pedal (ex: Tubescreamer type) and probably a Delay for some slapjack

Tuner, Red Llama, Keeley TS-9, True Spring Reverb, Belle Epoch Deluxe into an old AC30. Add a Tele and an idiot and my rig is complete.

Tuner, comp, OD, delay and reverb (if your amps doesn’t have ‘verb).

    Done!

For any of our country-ish songs, I use some slap back delay and a Green Rhino. Maybe my Phase 95. Sounds good.

Kenny Vaughan has 6, one of which is a DI for his acoustic - SP compressor, Boss Tuner, Boss Tremolo, Radial clean boost, Malekko reverb.

Personally I would use from my pedals - tuner, Keeley Compressor, Tim, Belle Epoch (slapback)
