Pic 1...Anyone know how to get this kinda worn in and rounded at the edges paint chipping effect? Were the paint edges buffed?

Pic 2....How to achieve these dark areas around the frets?
I assume its a dark lacquer applied then sanded back up to the fret area, correct?
    Thanx

The top pic looks like they knocked one chip of the finish off around the edge, flecked off a few more pieces, and then rubbed some sort of oil or dirt over it.

As for the second one, I don't really have a guess.
