I’ve bought/sold more than I would like to admit.

But right now I’m feeling pretty much happy w everything.

    Lexicon 284 Stereo amp
    Ceriatone/Kane-modded Liverpool clone
    Krinard-modded Filmosound 385s (2)
    1964 Bandmaster
    1972 Hiwatt dr103
    Kelley FACS
    Marshall Class 5

The Hiwatt and Kelley are my two favorites, but the 385s are right there too. Just unbelievable tones available from all three. Clean to scream.

I want to add a 64-68 Bassman and a Super Reverb from the same time period. Matamps look cool too, and
My buddy says the JOAT is amazing. I’m sure I’ll keep trying stuff. I’ve really gone away from the ODS style amps after trying a bunch. But, I did build a direct board with a Kingsley Maiden D and Page DS (Dumble #124 preamp section clones) and a Torpedo CAB acting as the power amp and speaker sim. It’s essentially another “amp”.

Since 1968? Dozens. Now only have two; the F50 below and a Blackstar Fly 3. From memory; Selmer Treble n' Bass 50 Mk1 and matching Goliath 1x18" cab, some sort of Laney head, AC30, Boogie F30, MkV, several Bandits, Fender Pro Tube Pro Reverb, Blues Junior, VHT Pitbull, Peavey Bravo, Classic 50 2x12, Cornford Hurricane, Marshall DSL401, Cornell Romany etc. Most of the others, including a couple of less than memorable Marshalls, are best left forgotten.

    interesting thread:
    owned and sold:
crate solid state tweed with chorus(first amp)
epiphone 508 5 watt tube practice amp

    owned and still have:
1974 peavy Classic - not a classic 50, but one of the hybrid models with SS pre amp, and 6l6 power section 4x10 combo
vox cambrige (pathfinder with a tube pre amp and an 8 in. celestion blue)
Goodsell super 17 - new number 1 for the forseeable future. only reason i can even imagine wanting something else is to run them in stereo

which makes a total of 5, which is about 1/3 of the guitars i've been through in the same 20 years.

Lost count along time ago back when I used to repair them and buy and sell some. I'd say over 50. 15 were Fender amps most MIA tube amps. A few Gibson's, 2 Sunn, 1 Orange 120, 1 Vox Pacemaker (USA tube) and a bunch of other stuff.

    Currently own -

    • Redplate Blackverb. This has become my new gig AND home amp. Got it about a year ago.
    • '76 SFDR. Was my gig amp since I got it in 2000.
    • '66 Pro Reverb. Got it in about '93, gigged it off and on since, but doesn't see a lot of action anymore. It is actually in my office/studio right now, been playing it, comparing to the BV. Will probably sell.
    • 5e3 clone I built in 2001. Needs some work, when I get some time.
    • An early '70s Sho Bud Tube Twin. Basically a copy of a twin. Currently in pieces, was replacing caps and have not had time to finish.

    Owned in the past -
    • Quilter Steelaire. Got it for pedal steel. Really wanted to like. Really didn't.
    • MK IV. Was my gigging amp from about '94 -2000, though occasionally I'd use the pro.
    • Fender Concert II. Got it in the early 80s, used it until I got the pro and then the MK IV.
    • Twin Reverb. Bought new in Jan '74, used until I got the concert.
    • Peavey Combo. '78 maybe. I think it was called a classic. The old black one, not the newer one. SS pre, tube power. I used it for a short time, playing in a band that did southern rock. Didn't like it, went back to the twin.
    • Univox - SS amp. Not great. Got it in '71.

So, not even a dozen amps in over 45 years.
