I own a 56 Customshop strat and was curious as to how many are built each year roughly?

For example mine was built in 05' is there any serial # record of each year or anyway to figure it out/.?

I know this is kinda out there but I was just wondering.

    Peace
    Shane

Fender does not release those numbers

I would venture to guess that the Fender CS makes far more guitars than any other Custom builder, including the Gibson CS. Probably somewhere in the thousands or even tens of thousands per year.

It's not unusual to find new CS Fenders still sitting in various shops after 2-3 years. It seems the demand has not caught up to current production levels. Of course, this does not pertain to limited runs and true one of customs.

Agree with XKnight. The CS is basically another factory that churns out thousands of guitars each year, not a small boutique builder.
