    1- AnalogMan Sunlion
    2- Zendrive
    3- Turbo Rat clone
    4- AnalogMan modded SD1

Before I got the Boss MS-3 I used to play my Fender DRRI cranked to 6 or so with a clean boost pedal at the end of the chain as a pseudo master volume knob. The amp set that way didn't like the MS3 at all. Now I have the volume down in the clean zone @ 3 or so depending on the gig. What a different world that is getting drive from pedals instead of the amp.

One of my previously favorite pedals was the AM modded Maxxon SD9. It doesn't play well with the current live rig (P90 Reverend > Boss MS3 > Fender DRRI.

I also loved the EH Double Muff and want another Muff pedal (Thorpy or JHS). It also isn't liking the change to the MS3 or playing the amp "clean".

What I think is that the MS3 just isn't ideal for a cranked tube amp, or I just haven't really figured out how to use it that way yet.

One, the JHS Double Barrel (though it is a dual overdrive).

My entire pedalboard: SD1>SD1. The first one has the C6 cap lifted and set to low gain (9 to 11 o'clock) depending on the guitar being used, and the second (controls straight up at 12 o'clock) for lead boost. So the short answer is 2.

Just a TS mini into an Orange OR15 to quickly add gain without adjusting the amps knobs - a second "channel". Anything else on top of that would be overkill.

Hermida Red Zendrive as my always on "clean" boost pedal (gain at 8:30).
Hermida Original Zendrive as my main OD
Hermida Dover Drive for my highest gain (stacked on the Red Zen).

    Three:
JHS Morning Glory as "always on" transparent drive
PC Timmy for "more" in choruses and other heavy rhythm sections
Marvel Drive 3 for leads and heavy stuff

I think there's less of a need to have X number of drives on your board because TGP says so and more of an "as needed" approach. Some people get by with a single drive or clean boost because that's what the tunes they play need. Others have a bit more variety in their sets and need a couple of additional drives to cover it. YMMV.

I like options. EP Boost before these to push things a bit harder if needed.

Peavey Classic 50 - Il Torino in boost mode and perhaps a Rat set to deliver fuzz
    Jet City 20W Combo- None

I own a bunch: DS-1, SD-1, TS-9, Soul Food, Freq Boost and I'm probably forgetting something but I've found that I can get all the sounds I need from these set ups.

    1-2.

My Vick Audio Tree of Life is my #1 OD, it never leaves the board. I was using a a UT&T Tone Druid to boost it, but I sold my strat and it doesn't work as well with my Tele, so it has been de-throned by my new Lovepedal Bonetender fuzz.

The tree of life is extremely versatile and does naything from boost, to od, to full on distortion. I like to keep the Bonetender set at minimum gain, it cleans up really well with the volume knob and also sounds wicked stacked into the TOL.

Snouse BB2 > Menatone the King Studio > SUF Red Army

I'm considering maybe adding an EQD Gray Channel or RAT

    WAY too many ... LOL

I utilize the gain stacking method, so I have a few that I use together for that reason, but I also have a few more that I have on my pedal board because I like to have a variety of different tonal options. however, since there's one or two that I rarely use, I may be bumping a couple off for now.

so on a regular basis, I would say that I typically have about 5 or 6 drive/dirt pedals on my board that i use 90% of the time.

1st stage of gain (on together):
    EHX Crayon
Joyo Sweet Honey (Honey Bee clone)

2nd stage (occasional, for added dirt if and when I need it):
debating between a ProCo Rat, a DOD Boneshaker, and a DOD Gunslinger

    final stage of gain:
either Black Arts Toneworks Destroyer or Black Arts Toneworks Quantum Mystic

    occasional boost for leads:
    Boss Bass Overdrive

3 at the moment, but 2 are dual channel. First is the KOT into the FTT MS-SOV1 into the LovePedal SuperSix Billet with the COT50 boost built in. I'm thinking of switching the KOT out for a the Sunface so that I can have 3 seperate gain stages, rather than having to stack pedals for high gain. Generally speaking in terms of gain stages; I use the yellow side of the KOT for a clean boost but its rare, the SuperSix SRV mod side of the LovePedal Billet is my main slight hair boost for rhythm and it cleans up really nicely with your pick attack, the MS-SOV1 is my main solo tone and I run the red side of the KOT into the MS-SOV1 for high gain. Some really nice stacking combinations depending on my mood are the yellow side of the KOT into the SRV side of the billet, either side or both of the KOT into the MS-SOV1, the MS-SOV1 and the COT50 side of the billet, and if I'm going balls to the wall, either or both sides of the KOT into the MS-SOV1 into the COT50 side of the billet. All of which I control with the volume knob, usually leaving it around 8 allowing for a volume boost if need be. Lastly I'm running them into either a 1965 Super Reverb, or a custom JTM45 clone.

I have on board right now:
    "standard"
    Ibanez Tubescreamer Mini
    ProCo RAT
    Lovepedal COT/Eternity Stack

    "Amp-like"
    Lovepedal JTM
    Lovepedal Jubilee
    Joyo American Sound
    Joyo AC Tone

The Joyos will be swapped out soon for a Kanji, Blackface Deluxe and a Zen Drive, most likely.
