One dirt: Minstrel
One fuzz: WTF
2b after; for both.
just one. A JHS double barrel. The new one.
Always in Rotation
when using two: Either a Turbo TS (AM classic mod) or BB preamp or Nobels ODR-1 w/ the RAT wfri
when using one: Marshall Guv' or Wampler modded Boss SD-2
Acid Fuzz Yellow Sunshine
Ramble FX Twin Bender
A soon to be made Kingsley Harlot
- VFE Scream (TS808) >
- Keeley White Sands (Great light OD) >
- Archer Ikon Gold (sold my Klon) >
- Wampler Pexidrive Deluxe >
- Wampler Euphoria (my main OD) >
- Wampler Plextortion (when I need to jump to the 80s) >
- Ibanez Sonic Distortion Mod (ugly disto)
But I get my main OD sound from my D-Style amps. I just like playing with different OD sounds.
The only dedicated dirt box I have is the Source Audio Kingmaker, which can act like two. I also have an H9 that can do dirt and a couple other pedals with boost and/or “grit” as a secondary capability.
Marshall blues breaker mk 1
Emerson EM drive
Resonant effects Small Hadron Collider #56/60
Joyo tube screamer clone
Spark Mini Boost (to push the other pedals)
TC Electronic Honey Pot Fuzz
Raygun FX Soda Drive +
What does the BUSS give you that the Gain Changer and Burn Unit EQ don't? I have the GC and Burn Unit, which are great, but adding the BUSS seems like overkill. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
It could be overkill. I played for a lot of years with only the Burn Unit. I'm super good at turning the knobs with my toe while I play. But I love the BUSS for the Marshall sound of it all. I'm generally running the Gain Changer in low gain mode with knobs at noon, the Burn Unit with channel 1 drive at 9:00, and channel 2 drive at 3:00 with bumped volume for a lead sound. The BUSS is on the super sport side with high harmonics and drive at 9:00 is really nice through my HRD. It gives me a Marshall "ish" attitude, even with the gain relatively low.
1: PoT, to be replaced with the KoT in a year or so
Caveat: I also have an Analogman Mini Bi-Comp. The Juicer circuit is pretty effectively a boost when cranked and pushes the amps into nice gain. Then the Ross side is there for sustain and squish
I had a big pedal board with lots of different flavors, but i reduced to this:
Jam Pedals Tube Dreamer 58
(...but i play mostly Strat these days, so i think about building a bigger board and reintroduce my Fuzz Phrase...)
Three currently but they change.
2, but I'm hoping to add a 3rd tomorrow
All of the Klones I've had have had noticeably different EQ's ...only a couple of which I liked.
Which did you get?
Just 2 for now. I’m looking to pick up the new Barber BUSS to swap on and off in place of my Exacta based on my needs at the time
I mostly use 2:
Teletronix Mulholland Drive MkIII
If Fuzz counts I've been currently using a Way Huge Swollen Pickle a bit but admit I'm having some issues dialing it in to what I want.
Depending I may switch out and/or add a TS10 or a T Rex Moller. Have a Soul Food but use the Mulholland more for the light OD duties.
Had three for a while, but now I'm down to two, if you don't count the booster:
Spark Booster (it counts, right?)
TC Mojo Mojo
Arc Klone V2, picked it up used for a good price. I don’t see myself hunting for the ultimate Klone, if I like the flavor it’ll stay!
Tone City for the win!
