A friend of mine wants to trade one of these to me for a few unsused speakers. it's a late 70s muff, still runs great but I might just buy it off him, how much should I offer TGP ? are they any good ?

Ah yes. .. the classic Big Muff In-your-end-O.
We love it.

OP,
Step 1) Google up Kit Rae's Big Muff page. Figure out which model exactly you have.
Step 2) Punch it into Ebay's Sold/Completed listings.

Voila.

Looks like the "Pumpkins" IC model. With the right pointer knobs. Has more collectibility than others...

I bought one those new in the late 70s(maybe 79)with the tone bypass switch My first pedal.

I don't know what prices they are going for now. But I would not pay over 70 bucks. That would be if I found who has my old one. Just because it was my first pedal.

Cool memories though

$275 to $350 seems to be the going range at the moment,
depending on condition and how badly someone wants one. ;)

If its one of this IC Big Muffs I've seen them go between $300 & $400.

Now, would I pay that for a Big Muff? No.
