I have a Timmy, and am looking to trade it for a Tim, so I can have the boost section.

Was wondering if anyone knew how similar the two are, I absolutely love my Timmy and don't want any tone difference.

How similar are the 2?

Thanks!

According to Paul, there are NO differences in tone, except the Timmy can do Asymmetrical clipping, unless you get some external switches put on it which Paul does for about five bucks.

I had the Timmy for several years and just recently got a Tim. I do love the boost section...definitely worth the extra $ but I also find the Tim a little sweeter sounding. They are definitely close...but the Tim wins for me.

I've heard both, and I own a TIM. And it's pretty much the only pedal I use on my board. But I agree with Chrisr0712 on this one, the boost is sweet! It really fattens your tone and can provide a sweet crunch. If I were to just have one of them I would go for the TIM. But if you have other pedals that provide that boost for you...then keep the timmy. Your married now so if you don't have to spend the cash...then don't.
