Does anyone know how to determine this? Don't theay all just say England on the magnet???
"Made in Ipswitch England"
On the newer speakers, the little white tag on the side of the speaker will have a ipswitch or a 50 on it, the 50 means it was made in China. They all say 'Ipswitch England' on the main label with exception to the 'Made in' as mentioned above.
I've A-Bd both newer English made and current Chinese made Celestions and can't really hear any difference between the two.
What about compared to Celestions from the 80s? How do they compare?
I guess all new ones will have the 50 on the side. So, I'll look for the made in IPswitch or the little white tag with the same. Thanks.
I am guessing all the K-100s are Chinese made.
My cabs from the 80's are warmer compared to the new China versions. I am sure its due to 25+ years of use compared to one year use on the new celestion speakers I have. But the character is all there. I was suprised they were as close.
I usually just try insulting the Queen and see how they respond.
You can tell from the polite effeminate accent.
Oh no he didn't.
Thanks man! So in your opinion is it worth it to get Celestions from the 80s or Rola speakers or just get new ones, regardless?
Just get the Scumback M75's. You can get one Scumback for the price of 2 Celestions or other brand. If you are looking for older used Celestions, well a used Scumback will probably run about the same. Save up more, the Scumbacks are worth it man they really are. Out of the dozens of speakers I've bought and sold, nothing sounds like the Scumbacks. And I'm pretty darn picky or I would have stopped buying speakers a long time ago.
Wanna try that one again?
