how to get a chandler tube driver tone with spending all the money one?

    I would like to achieve eric johnson like violin lead tones with out spending all the money for a chandler tube driver.

    Behringer VT911 Vintage Tube Overdrive + Bitmo 2BO mod. The Behringer circuit is based on the Tube Driver's.

    Look for a Tube Works Real Tube.Predecessor to the big fat one now made but built by BK Butler.Nails that tone and some like it better.I had a newer one and I like this one better. Got it for $100 in mint condition.:AOK

    Real Tube or even a Rat pedal works in a pinch.
