Please note the option below outlined in RED. I'll do another thread about that; but that's to hide or show your email. There was no setting for this when the database was migrated; you have to choose one or the other. We recommend setting it to "Hide" and have people contact you through the board so you don't get spammed from unknown sources.

    How To:

Click or Hover over your name up on the right and click on "Preferences"

The Hide/Show Email is available and works in both the TGP Classic and TGP Classic Dark themes.

*Note: The new "Hide Avatars" Function is shown below in BLUE.

In the old forum, it was pretty easy to find people's email. I find it kind of hard to believe that everybody has turned it off here. Where does it display if it hasn't been turned off?

That was a major issue on the old forum. There were many instances of nefarious people email scrapping and spamming members that no amount of administrator announcements or sticky threads alleviated. Members here on this platform need to choose to turn it on or off; but because there was no value 1:1 to transfer over, for most members that is not set and if it does not have a setting, then it just does not show.

You set it in your preferences; and the best way to contact people is to open a conversation with them privately (aka private message them on the board).

That removes one of the biggest headaches from a privacy standpoint for the members of TGP and it's much bigger than ever at this point in time.
