Was it OVER when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor???? Hell no!!
Ok. My prediction on the settlement:
Howard gets a few pedals that he was working on at CB, and is free to start his own company and sell these pedals. However he must pay a royalty back to CB for each pedal sold for a few years.
How about, “a person”? Am I close?
Anything other than Howard making pedals is a waste of time. Let's get rolling! My only professional advice is don't call the next pedal Preparation H and say it cures tone pains in the @$$.
Also, I want to apologize. I talked a lot of **** about Howard in this thread without knowing the whole story. That makes me a loudmouth a**h***. Howard brings a lot to the pedal community (with or without CB) and I don’t contribute jack s***. These are real people’s lives and careers here, not some kind of sitcom or lame GoT season. So I apologize to both Howard and the TGP community at large. Y’all deserve better.
I promise to be first in line to buy whatever he cooks up, to put my money where my big mouth has been.
+ top jacks
+ tails optional
+ perf the enclosure over every internal pot.
+ runs on V-in from -9 (so it can be daisychained with their vintage Ge fuzz) up to 24 VAC... dammit, just sense what's coming in and modify the filter section for THAT!
No, but everyone will know soon enough.
why am i in the fx forum if we all arent going to argue about catalinbread anymore?
im selling my gear and am going to learn how to quilt
Ok I lied, lol. I do have an idea for Howard's first pedal. It's not what I want so much. It's something I bet he would enjoy.
I understand Howard has always wanted to make a classic fuzzface or some such labor of nerd love. I bet he would love to buy a big stash of badass transistors, whatever the best deal for the greatest trannies is, and interpret an old classic fuzz.
I admittedly would like to see him make another serious statement in the fuzz world. But maybe outside of Catalinbread he'd have more freedom to just get into some freaky transistors in whatever quantity?
Maybe this is stupid, but I am imagining that making a badass fuzz is also a way to tell the turkeys you are back and ready to chow like its Thanksgiving (assuming it fits the business plan and other stuff, lol).
Or not, but hey.
I hope Howard makes some lovely stuff in the future (that continues the ethos of solid and practical but innovative at regular human person prices) and I hope Catalinbread makes some lovely stuff (that continues the ethos of solid and practical and innovative at regular human person prices) and I hope neither party starts getting into the 'out of the reach of the working musician' boutique+ market, which is something a lot of people in the game seem to be heading towards.

this has inspired a traditional 5/7/5 haiku
howard is the man
i dont need another fuzz
will buy anyway
Just re-acquired a B.E.Deluxe for the 3rd time. Every bit of Howard’s obsession and passion comes through that pedal every time I play it. Make some damn pedals Howard. Make sure everyone knows it’s you. I’ve got 300$ on WHATEVER You build anytime day or night. Signed- patiently waiting.
running it at 18 v ?
That is exactly the kind of fuzz I've been looking for. I also use a cranked Marshall Super Lead and the experiences I've had with fuzzes.
Hasn't Howard posted to TGP before or am I still drinking too much bourbon?...
Yeah he has. Quite a bit. I forget his username.
I think we could use a proper anticipation thread for Howard’s new projects. One that doesn’t have discussion of his old company and the litigation in the title. Let’s leave that in the other thread(s) and have a fresh start. Move or duplicate those clips over there etc...
Maybe Howard can do so himself? I think new TGP rules say he just has to have the “vendor” tag on his username and he can start a Vendor thread or whatever...
