I saw a show last night and after the first song the amp made a howling whoooooooooooooo sound like a warning siren. after the guys messed with it the sound went away. I'm wondering what the sound was. does anyone know? It was a silverface fender - I'm not sure of the model - deluxe or twin.

if he fiddled with the controls it could have been that he had the gain up too high and it was feeding back..if it was a tube amp and he was messing with the back it could have been a tube loose in the socket and jigglin' it made the sound go away..or it could have been haunted and he did a quick exorcism:D

it wasn't the guitar feeding back. it was something wrong with the amp.
