I'm going to upgrade my HT amp in a month or so after the holiday dust settles and would like opinions.

I've been pleased with Harman Kardon sound in the past but I haven't seen anything from them that checks all my boxes.

My top choice so far is the Denon AVR-X2400H

    It's not going in a particularly large room ( 11 x 14 ) and I don't want to spend a ton of money.

I'd like to use my sparkly new JBL LSR305 for the main channels, which is easily done with the Denon

I want the latest goodies, HDR10, Atmos, DTS etc.

I'll use it for home theater/TV/streaming/BluRay plus stereo/music

I don't need more than one zone

I want to be able to plug in a cable box, roku, computer, disc player but can't see needing more than that.

I do plan to listen to potential choices before I buy.

Any +/- comments or other recommendations?

    TIA

Lots of good stuff out there but be certain to include Anthem products in your search. I have an AVM 60 A/V processor that is exceptional imho. Their multichannel amps and A/V receivers are also very good.

I have an Integra DTR-60.6 that does it all very well.

Not with the X2400. You need an AVR with pre-outs for all channels (not just Zone 2) if you want to connect active speakers or an amp. You have to bump up to the X3400 for that.

Look at the Marantz versions. The SR6011 is an awesome little unit. The Dennon is very similar but not... I’ve A&B’d a few and the Marantz serves you a little better when it comes to Pure Audio modes. It has powered 7 channels and 12 Pre outs.

Out of the box you could do 5.2.2 or with an amp all the way to 7.2.4.

I run a 7703 with Outlaw 200wpc amps in a 5.2.4 Atmos set up. I’ve installed dozens of Yamaha, Marantz and Sony Atmos Systems. I prefer the Marantz. If money is tight the Sony stuff is really pretty good especially for your room size.

As it happens, I use a 6011 in my little cave with LSR305 at L/C/R and dirt cheap JBL Arena 120/B15 everywhere else for 7.2.4. Active up front means no additional amps needed.

Bought a refurbished Marantz SR6011 for a good price...

Sounds great, thanks for the recommendations!

Anthem is what most guys use because their room correction (ARC) is the best. Very well built and good sounding too.
