I have the chance to acquire one of these in a trade, and wanted to get some folks' opinions on it. I don't have much experience with various amps, and have never played a H&K. My initial searching returned good reviews.

Trade value of my item is about $300.

I could also sell mine, and pick up a Crate V1512 for under $200. I have heard those are great.

I use pedals for OD mainly so I really just want good cleans and a good foundation for pedals. the effects loop on the H&K is a nice plus.

I owned a H&K Edition Tube once. Great sounding little amp. Wish I had never sold it. Great spanky clean channel and more gain than I ever use in the dirty side. Only negative I would say is you basically have to take about 12 or 15 screws loose to get the back off to get to the tubes.
I own a Crate VC50 head that I paid $200 for and it's just a great amp too.
I would say all in all get the Hughes and Kettner.
