Hughes and Kettner Statesman Dual EL34 vs JCM900 50w

For rock/pop cover gigs. I'm looking for a backup/alternative head to my Super Sonic 60 rig.
I've had the JCM 900's in the past so I know what I'm getting. I know many don't like the 900 series other than the SL-X versions, but I thought the HGDR versions were just fine for me.

I see that H&K has reduced the price on the Statesman amps to 499.99 which pretty much makes it about the same price as a used JCM900.

Side note...has anyone seen the price of the reissue JCM 900? Did my eyes decieve me or are they 2K for a 100w head?

Used Super Sonic 60's are pretty reasonable now...why not pick up another if only a backup?

A used JCM900 or a DSL50 would be a good alternative, and give you that marshall mid bark compared to the Super Sonic. Although an MI Audio Crunchbox thru the Bassman mode of the Super Sonic will get you in the ballpark too.

Yeah, good point. I could definitely pick up a second SS60 in the 500-550 range, but would rather have a different head/cab. I like variety I guess :-(
