I am stunned (RS did it)

The most un-believable thing happened to me today. As you all know by now, WCR and RS Guitarworks have been enjoyng a great professional relationship, and friendship with all concerned. We keep refering people to each other all the time, and it's been working just GREAT !

Anyhow, today, UPS pulled up. Had a box about 4 feet tall for me. On the label it read "RS GuitarWorks," so right away I knew something was up. Carol got out the camera, and I proceeded to open it up. I opened one end of it, and started pulling out packing like a maniac. Well, I am one, but that's beside the point. I got about 8-10 inches down, and damn if there wasn't the end of a nice case. I pulled it out, set it on the lawn, and here is what was in it:(clik the thumbnails):

Incredible
!!!.Light as a feather, meaner than hell itself!
It was signed inside the cavities by everyone there at RS. Came complete with a Certificate of Authenticity, also signed by everyone !
It is called the "StepSide Custom" and in the very last part of the fret board, it is stamped serial number : WCR-1." WHOA !!!!
Here's the official info:

MODEL: STEPSIDE CUSTOM
BODY WOOD: MAHOGANY WITH FIGURED BIRDSEYE MAPLE TOP
PICKUP CONFIGURATION: TWO CUSTOM WCR SHREDDER HUMBUCKERS
ELCTRONICS: U.S.A. MADE TREE WAY PICKUP SELECTOR WITH MASTER VOLUME AND TONE (OPTIONAL PUSH-PULL TAP)
BRIDGE: CUSTOM NON-TREM
BODY FINISH: TRANSPARENT RED
NECK WOOD: THREE-PIECE MAPLE/WALNUT/MAPLE
SCALE 25"
FRETBOARDWOOD: ROSEWOOD
NECK SHAPE: SLIGHTLY V
NUT WIDTH: 1-11/16" (OPTIONAL EARVANA NUT)RADIUS: 10"
FRET SIZE: WIDE JUMBO
INLAYS: PEARL
NECK FINISH: OIL
HARDWARE: BLACK CHROME (OPTIONAL)
TUNERS: OPTIONAL SPERZEL LOCKING KEYS
HARDCASE: INCLUDED

Now, rest assured, I am too damn busy playing it to get ANY work done around here today. I'm not even sure it's really mine. As soon as Carol saw it, she was sure you made a mistake and had meant it to be for her. Same thing happened again when my daughter Rachel came home. She said it was just her size.....lol
ROY ! Whatever it was I did to deserve something like this, i hope I can figure it out, so I can do it again ! I'm tellin' ya, I am just blown away by you and your crew there. I have never even met you or anybody at your shop in person, and ya'll do something like this...... beyond my puny vocabulary to thank you enough. But I'll sure as hell try ! Thankyou, thank you, thank you, (get the point?) thank you, etc. etc; etc;:dude :D

Those Stepside models are incredible guitars.I played a two a few years ago_One tele and one strat. Both had the same pickup configuration, gold top finish and rosewood boards. The way cool things was two different size frets on the guitar.I believe 6100 1-12 and 6105 12-22.Real nice touch IMO.I've only seen a handfull in total and all were superior guitars.Wish I had bought one!!Just might buy one in the future........

LOL!

Not sure, I think his name was Dave O....somthing or other...:p

The double-decker design is just incredible. Looks cool, feels cool, it's just COOL ! I wish the pix were better, lotta depth in that axe.
I am really impressed with that Earvana nut. I didn't ever even realize how far out standard nuts were. it is definitley the most accurately playing guitar I ever owned. I just can't leaave it alone. Everytime I even just think about it, I'm back playing it some more.:D

Cool ya dig the SRs Bro. Enjoy the day playin' !

Way Cool! I sent my Goldtop R7 to RS to have relic work done and the job they did was absolutely amazing! BTW, that's the guitar I bought the bridge position WCR Crossroads for, and I couldn't be happier, very nice pickup!

I'm still enjoying that 333 as well. An old friend of mine came down from Oregon the other day, tried it, went back home and managed to be able to order a new one (still have some in stock here and there I guess). He likes the same thing about it that I did: sounds cool even UN-plugged !:)

Glad you like it Jim!

I thought it was way cool of Roy and Scott to do that for you..

Hey, I got to sign the guitar and certificate, and *I* recommended the tie-dye T Shirt!

That is excellent man! This coming weekend, A friend of mine I have known since '73 has rented a large place (like REAL big, complete with bar and bartender), and we are going to have probably damn near every musician I have have played with for any time in the last 30 years or so show up and jam, eat and drink all day. I plan to bring my JCM800, ms. RS SideStep, and wear THAT T-shirt...
The best part is NO volume limits....hehhehheh:cool: :dude

Congrat Jim ... If you ever lose faith that good things do happen to good people ... this is proof.

Or maybe it has something to do with that blind squirrel finding a nut???

Who knows? Just have a blast with your beautiful new baby. :dude

Wow! That's fricking cool. That's a good group of people at RS.

And now I understand why it took you so long to get me that pair of Darkbursts I ordered this week - you weren't working, you were playing!!! :D

Actually, they showed up Friday and I'm very happy. Smokin' good in a R7 Goldtop. Enjoy the toy.

Fer sure! I didn't know you knew about those, but I've been wanting to get one ever since Muddy told me about them. It's been so long, I just keep forgetting about them. Pretty damn cool piece of hardware. I have no idea what to put one on, but it's cool the way it has such a small footprint and low, simple profile.

Roy, I been tryin' to wear that axe out, but I'll probably be long gone before that could ever even START to happen. That is some incredible craftsmanship Bro!:dude
