It hadn't happened in quite a while, but I am currently Z-less. I sold my Mini Z a while ago - replaced it recently w/ a Carr Mercury - and now sold my Carmen Ghia head and Dr Z 1x12 cab. The CG will be replaced by the Swart AST that I have coming in the mail.

I will look forward to owning another Z amp sometime soon, but for now a little change in direction tonally. I think that eventually I will buy another Carmen Ghia.

But hey, I still have my Roland Microcube :facepalm :D

How do you like the Carr ?

I just played a Carr Raliegh, and was
quite impressed. Little 3 watter with a great
clean, and a surprising amount of bite

If I wasn't in a little financial crunch.....would be mine

I'm Z-less as well...first time in 10 years. Feels a little strange, huh?:) Love Z amps and will undoubtedly own more down the road. Today I'm honeymooning my Clubman...brand new Fralin's in my Tele, SP-42 bridge & 43 neck, WOW what a smoking rig!

I also had a Mini Z head & a Ghia head with 1-12 & 2-10 cabs. Nice amps but they had to go so I could try some new things. I'm shocked that Mojo doesn't have a Matchless sitting around. Killer clean tones in most of their offerings outside of the Little Monster.

Even though you are Z-less, you'll love the AST. I just took delivery of the baby Swart 6V6SE and it is fantastic.

A Matchless... I'll have to try some time :)
Swart 6V6SE: I was going to get one, but then the Carr Mercury made its entrance. I'd still like to try one though.

Videos... I can't wait to have time to set it all up! The AST should be here tomorrow :)

I haven't had a Z in about 8 months. I miss not having one around. I think I will go for another MazSr when I buy next time. They are killer amps. I am also interested in the EZG.

We'll see what happens, I suppose.

Its funny, I was just thinking the same thing, I sold my maz 38 last week and it feels kind of weird. I am buying an oldfield amp that I really love, it is a 4 6v6 and a 1/10, 1/12 combination combo with tone tubbys and tungsol tubes.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy mine very much, without the smokin' even! Though I must admit to the occasional Guinness ;)

Mojo, wondering what was it about the Swart AST tone that lead you to go in that direction?

I am loving the AST. It is so lush without being overwhelmingly lush. It's just the right tone for me. Add the verb and the trem, and the portability, and you feel that it's a special package. Now the quality of the overall amp is outstanding, both in terms of looks and craftsmanship, and that makes it my new favorite amp to play.
