I have a black strat with a nice yellowed maple neck that I'm pretty sure will look absolutely bitching with tortoise pickguard and white pickups and controls.

    :drool

Surely, many other players must have strats like that... so pretty please, with sugar on top, show me the damn pictures. :dude

I use to have a Fender American Standard Custom Shop Strat, that had a Tortoise pick guard and white pick up covers over Texas Special pickups.
It indeed was a really cool looking axe!
Since I no longer own that guitar my apologies for no pictures...

Here's a pic of my MiM Fender Deluxe Super Strat (now called a Deluxe Player's Strat). They don't make 'em in black anymore, but this one is a beauty. I love the white pup covers with the color scheme. The pups are original and I love 'em. Has a really nice neck, ala SRV or John Mayer strats. Also has a push-push switch that engages the bridge pup to give all 3 pups on or just neck & bridge, which makes it very twangy in both positions.

    Enjoy!

What are the odds?!? That there guitar is a black/maple 1983 Standard Stratocaster, just like the one I have. I've seen a few from that year, but usually they come with rosewood fingerboard, so this must be the first time I see one like mine. I need to learn how to upload pictures to this board.

similar to Tyler Landau classic (this one not mine)

with a maple neck, I really like the David Gilmour color combo. black body with white pickup covers (and controls I think) with black pickguard.

Hey Iversen and clmazza.. that is too funny.
Great sounding guitars! I really like the neck, its that crazy tremolo that I've been trying to find a way around, really dont like that thing.
Iversen, PM me and I'll help you get photos up.

P.S. Sorry for the thread hijack.

I have one just like Blong's.

Blong, if you are there, could you say what wood and pickups yours came with? I never knew what mine, which is the same model, came with. That was back in the day when I just bought guitars because they were shiny.

Nice pictures all of them. Mine is not ready yet. I got the pickups yesterday, a nice set of white Suhr HSS V60LP and an SSV humbucker. I also received the pickguard and I guess that'll teach me to not buy thirdparty accessories online again; there's just no way that thing would fit a normal strat.

    Keep'em coming.
