    Hi guy's,
I can get either a meteor 2 1x12 combo or jmi top boost 2x12 combo for about the same price.

I know they are different animal,
But what one would you buy and why?

I've owned the Meteor II (1x12 combo format) and it was completely awesome. Power amp tube configurations include 2x6V6, 4x6V6, 2x6L6, 2xEL34. Each tube can be individually biased. The reverb is the best I've ever heard, the trem is fabulous. The tones are fabulous and the breakup is smooth. The only downside of the amp is the lead (tweed) channel needs to be extremely loud to break up.

I've owned the London, but haven't played the RSA. The JMI will be very different from both of those though. I've owned quite a few Vox style amps over the years, and none come close to the JMI 30/6TB I had. It's just on another level.

    That's what I've heard.
    Any issue with it?

No, never did. Playing the amp in 1/2 power mode helps, but it is still quite loud for full-on breakup sounds on the lead channel. I loved the clean channel so much, though, that the high volume saturation issue on the lead channel was not an issue....I used pedals and pretty much lived on the clean channel (which is superb) while I had the amp. Are you buying the JMI from Music Ground or from a previous owner?

I've had a Meteor I and a Comet, as well as a couple of Hayseeds and a 90's Korg AC30 and I'd say go for the Meteor. For me it's a more interesting sounding amp. What the hell does that mean; who knows but it's my final answer.

I've was using BOTH of those amps for a long time, either separately or AB-ing on gigs. My Meteor II is the head version, and is still my #1 amp for most large-stage gigs. Once I started running into a 2x12 bottom with Celestion Golds, my Fender-Mixed-With-Vox dream came true. I love Mark's amp, including the lead/tweed channel, and I think changing out the Meteor combo speaker for a Gold might get you into some new and interesting tonal territory. Just my .02.

I get that the Meteor would be considered in the Fender camp but it is a very different sounding amp than a Twin or Deluxe. Much more bloom and "spankier" sounding.

Seem that I can get a great different vibe out of the meteor. I'm not so sure that I'll bond that much about the vox vibe. Been playing fender and dumble since day one.
