Man, I walked into Guitar Center to buy a capo, and walked out with the most beautiful PRS 513! It was hanging on the wall with a "Used" sign on it, they were asking $2499 for it. Haveing been very intrigued by these guitars for a long time, I made an offer, and after a bit of haggling, they packed it up in the custom case and out I walked! Man, I'm stoked! What a great playing and great looking guitar. I would guess it's called a tobacco finish. And it's a "10" top to boot! I'll post some pics when I have some more time. Just wanted to share.......Steve

There are some advantages to being single, and having a girlfriend who was the first I called to tell her. All she wants is to hear me play it....:RoCkIn

Did you hold back enough $$ to get the capo too?

    Congrats. I'd love to own a 513.

Nice score Steve. Does this mean that the amp quest has to be put on hold?

Wow, that is one cool girlfriend. Surprised she wasn't upset because you didn't spend some of that money on her. Marry her. You'll probably have to sell a different guitar to raise the cash for an engagement ring though. :D

I played it at rehearsal this evening and in all honesty, I have never been so pleased with my tone. The 513 is one sweet guitar. There are so many tonal possibilties with the pickups. And they have to be the clearest pickups I have ever experienced. Even the other band members commented on how good the tone was. Very articulate, almost bell-like. Needless to say, I have found my "desert island" axe.....I'll take some pics in the morning and post them. Man, what a gem.......

Not necessarily; I"m using an AxeFX as my main rig, but am still seeking a combo that I can leave at church. But it will be obtained strictly through a trade. I'll be listing a few guitars shortly. How is that Smith working out? I"m still intrigued by them. But I do have to say that the 513 and the Axe is a marriage made in tone heaven.......

Would have been funny if you bought the guitar and forgot to get the capo ^^
