I stream music from Tidal (CD quality) and Google Play (mp3, my own files), and my setup is wireless router to Chromecast Audio (optical out) to Cambridge Audio DAC to amp. Recently I had trouble with buffering and glitchy playback. VERY annoying.

I tried moving the router, I put a wifi extender thingy next to the Chromecast unit, etc. Nothing helped.

Then I checked my router settings. It was set to automatically choose the best WiFi channel as we live in an apartment complex. I changed that to a fixed channel, and that did the trick. Fast and smooth streaming - everything works as it should.

    Just FYI :)

Curious, did you go for the $20 hd level?
    How do you like tidal?

Yes, it's the 20 dollar Hifi plan. CD quality and also MQA (Master) quality.

So far I am very happy. Great selection and audio quality. No more CD purchases from me (except something hard to find) nor bothering with maintaining a local file server.
