I feel the SNL skit was not hilarious.

It's a good matchup. I'm anxious for gameday.

    I misread this thread....

The way I understand it is that the NFL has established guidelines for the PSI inflation rate for footballs and the penalty for underinflating or overinflating is $25,000.00. Not a large some for someone who make $27.5M per year.....

Is this actually against the rules, and if so, and they are guilty, what would the penalty be.

No one's mentioned that yet, AFAIK.

A crisis of epic proportions! Human existence hangs in the balance! LOL

Really? I find the amount of attention to this non-issue amusing given what else is going on around the world. Sad IMO. First world problem.

    I'm out, carry on.

I absolutely agree. Maybe world leaders will see what an important issue this is, and just start lobbing nukes around, as they should have done with the first press release. Start humanity over from scratch.

This ball thing is a beautiful PR job on the part of the NFL. They played it perfectly. Anyone talking about Ray Rice or Ray Lewis or the guy who committed suicide in the Chief's parking lot? Anybody talking about all the 50-year-old former players who have so much brain damage they can't remember their kids' names, or the cop who was shot to death in a HOF's player's bowling alley under suspicious circumstances? Anybody talking about the time that same player pushed his wife down a flight of stairs or the guy with eleven kids by ten girlfriends or all the drugs these guys munch down before, during and after games, or, or or....

Instead it's "The ball, the ball, horror of horrors, what about the poor ball!!!!!"

Yup. Something got to be done about that, and FAST!!!!!

This is like letting Charles Manson walk instead of going to jail then feeling sorry for the guy because he has flat feet.

A lot of people don't care much for football, so it's only going to receive so much coverage in the mainstream media.

Eric, unless I am mistaken, don't we need 13.5 threads to be legal?

When combined with the eye-opening lack of fumbles--for a team that plays it's home games outdoors, (often in iffy weather)--I think there's something to be said for the lack of importance assigned to the story.

The only thing worse would be if we hear the commissioner is buddying up with Kraft.

Underblown? Is in not giving it enough attention?

What do you want? The media exists to sell advertising.
