Posted this over on the LPF so if you've seen it - move on, this is not he amp you're looking for.

Brought my 73 Marshall Super Bass back into rotation and put her though her paces tonight (still ongoing) and WOW - I remember why I bought it!

As a lot of you know,m I've really been into the boutique thing for a while. Matchless, Bad Cat, Divided By 13, and Satellite. But, my bread and butter tones come from Blonde and BF Bassman heads and old Marshall heads.

Super Bass - just huge and fat overdriven tones they way I have her set. Playing into the "Bright" channel - volume on 7. Aracom is helping bring it down a bit. EQ to my tastes. Using an amazing Tele with Manlius Broadcaster pickups and going into a Marshall 1960BX that I've had since 2000.

    Love rotating amps!

As much as I love my JTM45/100 variant right now, I still cry over my '75 Superbass. I miss that amp dearly.
I had the best cleans on earth and I let it slip through my hands.. :(

    @ Louis..
So true! I have thrown myself off the bluffs near the Ritz Carlton here in Half Moon Bay about 30 times now..
    Still, the ache....

That Superbass, even at it's most beautiful clean settings, it had this beefy brooding underlying big groaning/growling undertone. Unreal.
