I found a box of 4 old RCA 12AX7A's and one sylvania. They've never been used, they all say made in USA.

Are these worth anything? Should I just keep them for some of my amps?

Also there's a rack full of old Altec greenface gear. The power amp is a 1570B if that means anything to anyone.

Those 12ax7's are very nice. The RCA's are generally considered slightly nicer than the Sylvania. Not worth a fortune, but a few dollars for sure. I'd say keep them and use them in your amps, unless you are well stocked with NOS tubes already.

I could strip out a lot of old gear and get used tubes. I'm pretty sure the old altecs are class B, so the tubes should be in fair to good shape.

Maybe I'll do that, the altec 1570B is a 70 volt system, so to try to use it for anything else I would have to mod it slightly.

If the RCA's a truely unused or NOS then they are worth a good bit really-over 50$ each. Prices Ive been able to find are from 75-90$ a piece for RCA short grey 12AX7A's-NIB NOS. Bob

That's what they are, never been used, new in box, made in USA... Maybe I'll put them on ebay and see what I get.

They are worthless, most likely microphonic, internally shorted, and close to end of life.

You should send them to me for proper disposal:D

Trout, cool, I have a couple of those mixers too, $700 each? I can dig that.
The amp itself is completely mint, I wiped the dust off and not a scratch on her.
    Thanks for your input.

One thing to know about those old audio amps, If your willing to ebay them internationally, they are going to sell for high $$$$.

I have to say, I have sent a hell of alot of this type gear to South Korea, Vietnam Japan and China. For some reason, they seems to outbid everyone. In the past 2 years I have sold about 25 high end vintage amps to those countries and never once had an issue, of course YMMV.

I pack them in solid pine crates, glue/screw and top removeable. Since they pay the shipping, I always over pack them a bit.

Good Luck and congrats on the sweet find.
