I was beginning to think I was going to get through 2009 without buying a new guitar. Then about a month ago I saw a photo of a T-style body with a very unique paint job and routed for a pickup arrangment I've been wanting to have for quite some time. To make matters worse, it was also routed for a 2Tek bridge - something else I've been wanting to try for a while. Well, the wait is over! This morning I took posession of the guitar you see below - a Ron Thorn SoCal GT with unique "Stone" finish. It is everything I had hoped it would be, and working with Ron has been one of my top spec'ing and buying experiences - absolutely fantastic every step of the way. The end result feels and sounds wonderful! Huge thanks to Ron and the team, and of course to Dave for the unique paint!!! :dude:aok:aok

Pure heaven, that's what it is!

More specifically, it's a mini humbucker - Thorn proprietary, made at least in part by Lollar I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong here).

    Awesome guitar.

I have to say, that is the most attractive Fender-ish headstock I have seen. I think I like it even better than Fender's headstock.

I showed that to my little boy and he said it looks like lava. I think it just looks really cool.

That is one gorgeous guitar! I definitely need to spend less time on this forum. All these stunning instruments fill my mind with bad, bad ideas.
