I hate to give absolutes but the vox pathfinder destroys 80% of all amps.

Yeah, it can totally smash 80% of amps that are played in your bedroom with your 3 months old baby sleeping next to you.

But it is just a little toy compared to ANY solid tube amp. I had this Pathfinder 15 twice. Every tube amp smashed it completely. Thin sound, no dynamics, suitable only for beginners or home practicing.

Feist has (or maybe had?) one or two. I love her voice, guitar playing and great songs. I really don't like her guitar tones, once she played some tube amp and it was about 1000% better than her stupid "Pathfinder" sound.

Ill put the ZT Lunchbox into the ring with your Vox Pathfinder. I'm fairly certain this is the pound for pound best bang for the buck, especially in the small amp category. Add your favorite cab and you can leave your expensive and heavy tube combo or head at home nice and safe from beer and knuckleheads.

I love pathfinders. . .but your estimation of the destruction in it's wake is wrong, only slays 79% according to recent estimates. .

Any word on whether Vox will re-introduce the Pathfinder 15?

Why would they? It's already destroyed 80% of all other amps, a statistic which must include destroying some of their very own Vox amp darlings. Why would they shoot themselves in the foot again? Isn't 80% destruction enough for you? Are you that bloodthirsty?

Better be careful with the Pathfinder boasting......someday some unknown Fender Champ with a new cap job is gonna spring up outa the ashes, whip out an Analogman TS9, and blow that Pathfinder outa the sky before he knows what hit him!

I currently have the Vox PF 15r as my only amp, and I can safely say, it is thoroughly destroyed by 80% of all the nice tube amps I've had.
Great bang for buck, heck yeah.
Nice grab n go for small volume affairs, you betcha.
    Cheap backup amp, sure.
It sounds fantastic for what it is.
But I terribly miss having a real amp, and basically feel ampless.

Not bad for a SS amp, but Marshall had a few of those too. It's not going to compete with any tube amp, even a crappy tube amp. Sorry, thread fail on page 1. :red

I think they're good wee amps, these pathfinders. nothing amazing but half decent for sure, and i'd much rather have a Pathfinder than an Epi Valve jr, clean or crunchy.

Anyone know why Vox discontinued this model? It really is pretty nice for a SS amp.
