    I had the same experience with my THD Univalve. I installed an original Gold Lion KT88 and it was sounding better than any other output tube that I tried. After about 10 minutes of cranked playing, my fuse blew. When I put in a replacement fuse and attempted playing again, I found out that I had blown my output transformer. It sure sounded excellent before it blew though! I sent it back to THD since it was still under warranty...still sounds good after the repair, but not as good as it did the day I had blown the transformer.

    I believe this is known as the Neil Young school of tone, "right on the edge of blowing up."
