I'm revamping my pedalboard and I need to narrow down my OD selection. Here's what I have:

Xotic RC Booster (Mainly just to bring the level of my single coil guitars up)
    HBE Powerdriver
Boss SD-1 (Modified to sound more "Marshally", kind of a JCM800 in a box)
Boss BD-2 (Also Modified to be a real light gain, gritty boost)
Custom Built Fuzz based on the Foxx Tone Machine

    BYOC Trem
    Arion SCH-1 (for Leslie effects)
Boss DD-3 (Modded for warmer, "analog" style repeats)
    Boss TU-2 Tuner

I'm definately using the RC, the Powerscreamer and probably the fuzz (Although I may replace it with a Fulltone '70 or McFuzz) and all the other non-OD pedals. The HBE will probably be used for the majority of my dirt, so I guess my question is this. Do I really need to add either of the Boss pedals, or will I be just fine without them? I only have enough real estate on my board for one more anyway, and thats really squeazing it in. Is anybody using multiple OD's or is it more trouble than it's worth to be tap dancing all night?

Send them all to me and I'll send back the ones I don't like! Seriously, search my post for board pic I and several other malcontents use multiple boost/OD/DIST./FUZZ pedals and like it.

Set your amp on the edge of break up and use your volume knob. Keep the Xotic and sell the others except for the fuzz. Buy a good analog delay.

That's my recommendation but I don't use overdrive pedals.

Thanks guys, but despite your advice, I'm not going to start giving away my gear :) After playing through everything for a while, I've decided not to use the Boss pedals in my board. I can cover pretty much anything I need (OD wise) with my amp, RC and Powerscreamer. That Powerscreamer is incredible. I highly reccomend it.

I totally know your pain (or pleasure). I use 5 different dirt boxes on my board.

    modded Sparkle Drive
    Barber LTD
    SPF Green Line
    Barber Direct Drive
a home made fuzz box muff clone

I don't have a whole lot more on there. I just feel like I can't get enough OD! I was actually thinking of having Brian Wampler over at indyguitarist.com build me a custom fuzz box modeled after the Lovetone Big Cheese. Hopefully the wife will let me :AOK
