And a few day ago someone posted, "Should I go see Julian Lage or..."

No "or", always go see Julian Lage!!!

It is truly an ethereal experience.

So much intention behind every note. Hands down my favorite guitarist right now.

If at all anyone ever thinks "all has been done on the guitar" or "nothing new left to do on the guitar", they need only watch this.

Not sure, but he was hanging with a Champ for awhile and pulling off the same type of stuff.

he's no Yngwie, but he deserves a B+ for effort...:rotflmao

seriously though, truly inspiring. and quite refreshing to see someone with such obvious technical skill and command of the instrument not gratuitously showcase that technique for its own sake.

He's so amazingly good, and a real treat to see live. I've seen him with Nels in a few different settings, as well- with the Nels Cline 4, and when it's just the two of them improvising in their telepathic way- and those are shows where you walk away simultaneously awestruck, inspired, amazed by the possibilities of guitar playing, and feeling a little guilty about how maybe you aren't getting 100% out of your instrument like these guys are.

Not sure what the amp was in the OP.
When I saw Julian last year in Philly, he was playing a Magic Amps Vibro Prince.

Love him. Modern Lore is my favorite. Thought I’d seen all his stuff but this was new to me. Very cool.

Exactly. It’s a virtuoso deal, but it’s melodic and beautiful. A lot of times the shredders just sound like they’re typing or something to me. Not this guy. Amazing.
