Hey guys I just wanted to post this thread to say how much in love i am with the Scumbacks i got today.

Right out of the box they looked amazing, i like the blue color!

I threw them in my Custom Audio Amplifiers Straight Front 4x12 with 2 Eminence TR12-65s and the combo is heavenly!
Ive never heard my amp sound so badass accept when i played through an original mint basketweave with pre rolas. I actually like the sound of these even more!

The speakers i ordered are The H55 Large Dust Cap 65 watters. They are the ****! They were special ordered because of the large dust cap request.

I was told that they would take 4-5 weeks and it took exactly 5 weeks delivered come to think of it. Id like to thank Jim and whoever works there at Southbay. I was treated very very well and when i called to check on progress, i was even remembered! Usually you have to remind people, but hey the service was top notch!

The product is second to none. I am positive i will buy these again in the future. Doing business with southbay was nothing but a pleasure, and i would gladly have paid much more for these speakers if necessary.

I tried them with my Two Rock Custom Reverb Artist 100 watt.
Super smooth sound with great gain articulation. Nice crunch with a marshally type setting. And clean as a whistle when needed. And the extended bass range is phenomenal. I was told it was something around a 45hz bass response which is way low! Great for the down tuned stuff i play and are so great for metal. I was hoping that i wouldn't find this rizzy 80s sound that i feel i get out of alot of celestion crap. The are so far from the riz! They are like 1000 angels singing in a chorus of metal. I would say that i set the cab up in an top bottom pattern where the eminence speakers are on the top and the scumbacks in the bottom. Ill try an X pattern some day, but thus far im very pleased so i doint foresee a change for any other reason other than curiosity.

Now for the cons....

None.

Only wish...

Make an EVM 12L Repro thats 300 watts. 40hz-20khz. I will buy many many many of those!

THANK YOU JIM! EVERYONE GO BUY SCUMBACKS NOW!

Are you building a stereo system? Guitars don't produce any near that frequency range. Think more like 50hz to maybe 8Khz. You wouldn't want to hear much beyond that range.

cant wait. Now ive been told by some guys that they run a prerecorded guitar track through the amp so it will break in the speakers. This a good idea or should i just play em out?

Play 'em hard and when you are out of the house, plug em into your stereo (check the ohms). That will give you a head start. They will improve just like Mike said:whoa mama.

I shouldn't have stumbled on this thread. I know firsthand how incredible sounding Jim's speakers are and just ordered some for my Komet. Now the wait will be that much harder!

Note: I don't think there is always a wait, and don't let that deter anyone from ordering some. Besides, they are worth the wait.

Your right there is not always a wait. The speakers on his website are all available and ship like instantly i believe, but i ordered a different dust cap on my speakers so it took a little longer. it was well worth it.
