Hi I just love the sound of a Fuzz (silicon or Germanium) together with a True bypass Overdrive. Its almost like your pair it with a treble boost but without the treble. Its making the Fuzz have more gain and make it smoother. What I also like is a germ. Fuzz in front a Silicon (BOG), and have bought the Hartman 2 Stage Fuzz for that purpose, I guess I will always be stuck in the 60 and 70 thies for guitarsounds. :crazyguy

got some cool tones in the studio yesterday with my fuzz factory running into the timmy. definitely smooths it out and controls it a bit.

I like Tonebender type fuzzes into my Zvex Box Of Rock whose drive is less than half.

Sunface into OD set for low gain is my favorite tone by far. You can go from hairy cleans to ballsy rock with a twist of your volume knob.

I totally agree. Fuzz into OD whether it is from my amp or a pedal is one of my favorite combos. I'm currently using either a Hendrix Fuzz Face into a SD1 or a MXR BC108 into a FDII. Great tones to be had. I also combine one of the fuzzes into the gain channel of my Shiva, I actually prefer this rather than the boost switch on the Shiva.

I agree, Fuzz into OD is great for tone.

Dave Fox must think so too - the Fuzzface ZIMcard has a built-in OD circuit to help smooth and shape the fuzz. This, among many other reasons is why the Foxrox ZIM is so appreciated by me.

I like the Foxrox Hot Silicon into the Diamond J-Drive TR and also the Zvex Fuzz Factory into the Vintage Tube ZIMcard in slot B of the ZIM.

    cheers,
    Ian

Sunface into Honey Bee is a sweet, sweet fuzz. Smooths it out perfectly.

Do you guys run your ODs clean or slighty dirty?

Right now, I'm running a Bass Big Muff or Fuzz Factory >> TS-9DX and any suggestions would be helpful.

It's a cool combo. I am fuzz-less at the moment though.

I run mine slightly dirty. Just enough to duplicate the natural break up of a loud amp.

I've always thought it funny that the best way to emulate a tube amp with pedals is to run a fuzz into an OD in that order, because the fuzz has some characteristics of a tube power amp, and the overdrive has some characteristics of a tube preamp. So the order has to be reversed when using pedals : the power amp emulator goes before the preamp emulator.

My combination is Throbak ODB or Tonefactor Hellbilly into a MI Audio BBD. I can get so many sounds with this combination, from Dumble to Marshall, etc.
