I currently have a 2004 Les Paul Standard and a 2012 G&L Comanche. Both are excellent guitars but I don't need both. I'm not gigging with electric guitars anymore and an HSS Strat would more than cover me for anything I do in the studio. I really like both guitars but I don't love either one. The Classic Pro (Classic S) HSS is calling my name!

Anyone else ever considered selling it all for 1 great one!

An HSS is a great configuration, and that’s certainly a very good one. If you don’t need LP sounds, I say DO IT.

I would never consider spending that kind of $ on an electric (which I see as a piece of wood with pickups), so I personally would be thinking of trading the LP for something more modest in HSS, or both for an HSS and a 2*P90.

    Do it, do it!

Once you own a Suhr you’ll understand!

I recent sold my LP Traditional Gold Top to help fund my third Suhr, a Pete Thorn Signature.

I finally saw the light about 5 years ago when I finally started doing some serious purging and sold off A LOT of guitars in my collection.

I've been strategically selling off guitars in my collection and using the proceeds to buy better quality guitars that offer more versatility tonally and sound wise.

This past November I picked up a used '15 Suhr Classic Pro SSH, and it's now one of the top 5 guitars in my collection.

I wouldn't hesitate selling off those 2 guitars for the Suhr Classic Pro SSH.

You will not regret the decision one bit.

Love my HSS Suhr Classic. Expensive, but the best gear decision I’ve ever made.

Wow! I didn't think the opinions would be near-consensus for the Suhr. I'm going to do it!

Hmm, Olympic White, Black or Sunburst?

All of their finishes are great including Sonic Blue (especially the antique). Just trying to make sure the finish will match any and all gigs that would come my way.

I couldn't... a couple weeks with the "one" and I would be missing something about one or the other I let go, ymmv of course... in your case it would certainly be the Paul I'd be missing, the LP neck HB so sweet

Opinions vary; mine is that I would definitely sell two rather undistinguished guitars to get a great one. I've done it often enough, and never regretted it. But -- big but! -- it's best to make sure you really love and "fit" with the one you may be getting, otherwise you're down two different guitars and stuck with a single one you don't love. You probably need to figure out if you're one of us who just "have to have a straight-up LP!" in our possession before you let yours go. Personally, I love being able to pull out my excellent LP to see what I can come up with on the same platform (ditto Tele, ditto Strat) that the masters have used for decades.

All I can add is that my buddy's Suhr was one of the finest guitars I've played. Wish I could have afforded to buy it when he sold it. Burgundy Mist Metallic with a roasted birds eye maple neck.

I don't want to be a party pooper but my advice is to think long and hard. What I know is that over my 50 years of GAS I've regretted every guitar I've ever sold for the simple reason that I bought them for good reason and that good reason has always and invariably come back to haunt me. My experience has been that it can be tricky territory because like and love sometimes aren't all that far apart and both being emotions they tend to come and go and then come back again.
